The idea of Mundo-a started a decennia back, when some Antwerp organizations working in the field of sustainability, nature and environment wanted to bring together several like-minded organizations under one roof. When they saw Mundo-b starting up in Brussels, they asked the Ethical Property Europe team to assist in developing a similar project in Antwerp.
Today there are three Mundo centres in Belgium (see pictures on the left). All three are renovated buildings. What makes the project in Antwerp unique, is that the this centre will be newly built. This will allow for Mundo-a to become a showcase for ecological and sustainable architecture. The building has been designed by B-architecten, which won the architecture competition.
Mundo centres offer more than efficient offices and meeting rooms to social actors. They also provide the ideal environment to develop and maintain contacts in an informal yet professional atmosphere. We create a working community by promoting encounters and exchanges in the communal areas, and by sharing services and equipment. This approach encourages the development of new ideas and insights.
On the Organizations page you will find the organizations planning to move to Mundo-a so far.
Below are some images of the designs of Mundo-a and the courtyard.
